“From my first phone conversation with Ally, I felt at ease. She is encouraging and accepting, with a warm and fun personality, and made my husband and I both feel comfortable. We were so glad to have Ally's support during my pregnancy, and even more glad that she was present for the birth of our first child. Ally was so helpful to us with determining our priorities for labor and birth and putting together a list of birth wishes. During my induction, she provided evidence-based information so that we could make empowered decisions and helped us keep our goals in mind as we advocated for ourselves. When Ally arrived at the hospital, she jumped right in and helped us create a relaxing atmosphere. Ally was by our side for nearly 24 hours, radiating positivity and calm, and kept things moving forward. I feel like Ally was instrumental in helping us avoid a c-section even after a very long labor. It was so fantastic to have her steadfast presence during the tough parts of transition and pushing. She came prepared with ideas for position changes using the peanut ball to help me progress through labor with an epidural. Ally also helped us to document the memories from such a special moment as we welcomed our daughter into the world. I would 100% want Ally to be present as our doula if we have another baby. I think everyone can benefit from having a doula as part of their birth team, especially one as sweet and easygoing as Ally. “Ally was an amazing Doula. She listened to all my needs and helped me draft my birth plan based on how I saw it. She never tried to persuade me one way or another and supported all the choices that were important to me. Once it was go time, she was a Rockstar, calm and collected throughout the whole 42 hours of labor. As we all know, during birth , things can often change quickly and unforseen circumstances can throw our original birth plan off track. In moments of confusion and worry, Ally was always right by my side helping me communicate with my care team what I needed. In a moment of panic, Ally was there to help me take a moment to think about what it was that was important to me and helped me make a list of questions and concerns to ask my care team before making a big decision. She was so valuable during my labor and I really felt like I had someone with experience that I could trust in the room with me. My husband also really appreciated having Ally with us during the process because she was able to keep him company and keep him calm as well. Ally was not only our Doula during labor, but also was out night Doula helping us care for our newborn baby. Being 1st time parents, bringing home a baby that doesn't come with instructions is extremely scary. Ally was so helpful in showing us how to do the basic things that we had no clue about. Not only was she a helpful guide, but she was great with our daughter. It was great to have her especially during the first few weeks. We were able to get some desperately needed sleep while knowing our baby was in very capable hands.”
